All SITE BC members are encouraged and invited to sit in one of our standing committees (Career Development, Public and Corporate Relations, Advocacy, Membership, Knowledge Development).
Career Development Committee: Coordinate employment finding program Career development programJob searching program. Activities include organizing events and promoting members’ general competencies with employer groups, etc.
Public and Corporate Relations Committee: Communicate SITE BC’s mandate, mission, objectives, achievements, plans, strengths, news and events with the general public. Other activities include website development&maintenance, corporate identity matters, media relations etc. Identify and establish relations with industry-specific and stakeholder groups and organizations at the corporate level. Activities include organizing networking events.
Advocacy Committee: Advocate for recognition of qualifications of the internationally trained engineering community and work with regulatory bodies to facilitate access of ITEs to their profession.
Membership Services Committee: Deal with membership registration, volunteer coordination, social events, database management and other issues related to member benefits.
Knowledge Development Committee: Facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience among members, and from external sources. Activities such as setting up mentorship program, holding professional development workshops will be included.
